Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP)

City Smiles Dental is Accepting CDCP Patients

City Smiles Dental is proud to announce that we’re are accepting patients covered under the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP).

CDCP helps make dental care more affordable for Canadians who don’t have private insurance.

If you qualify, the CDCP can help cover a portion of your dental treatment costs right here at our clinic.

Below, you’ll find everything you need to know about eligibility, coverage, and how to apply.

Are You Eligible?

You may qualify for the Canadian Dental Care Plan if you meet all of these conditions:

  • You don’t have dental insurance.
  • Your adjusted family net income is under $90,000.
  • You’re a Canadian resident for tax purposes.
  • You’ve filed a tax return for the previous year.

All four conditions must be met to access CDCP coverage.

Applications Are Open

Eligible Canadians can now apply for the Canadian Dental Care Plan. If you meet the criteria above, you can submit your application today.

What the Plan Covers

The CDCP helps pay for part of the cost of many common dental treatments.

Some procedures—especially those that fall outside regular care schedules—will need pre approval before you get treatment. This means your dentist will submit an estimate, and the CDCP will confirm whether the service is eligible.

Services that may be included under the plan when recommended by your dental provider include:

  • Exams, cleanings, and other preventive care
  • Basic dental treatments and restorations
  • Major procedures such as crowns or dentures

For a detailed breakdown of what’s covered, visit the CDCP Dental Benefits page.

How Coverage Works

The CDCP covers a portion of your dental care costs, but you might still need to pay part of the fee depending on your income and the type of treatment.

You may be responsible for some costs if:

  • Your adjusted family net income is between $70,000 and $89,999
  • The cost of treatment is higher than what the plan reimburses
  • You choose services that aren’t included in the CDCP coverage list

Your dental provider can give you an estimate before treatment so you know what portion you’ll need to pay.
